National College Decision Day is here and we have five high school seniors to highlight! Read about our guitar student, Luis Caballero, who will be going to University of Connecticut to study political science!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. How many schools did you apply to and how did you come to this final selection?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    I applied to seven colleges\/universities from Connecticut, but we settled with Stamford UConn for the quality of education and cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. What is your biggest accomplishment in high school?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Getting to join the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which has prepared me for college. This is a difficult and rigorous program to be in, but since I made it all this way, and am about to graduate, I feel like this was my biggest accomplishment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Thinking about the application process: What advice would you give to current high school students who are thinking about applying to college?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Apply to your preferred colleges as quickly as possible, look for a college advisor to help you fill out the application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. How has your musical training at INTEMPO helped you with your academics, school grades, college essays, etc?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Having to practice my guitar repeatedly has helped me when studying and preparing for tests and exams in school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Based on your major, where do you see yourself after college?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

             <\/strong>After majoring in political science, I plan on going to law school in Hartford. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Apliqu\u00e9 a siete universidades de Connecticut, pero nos decidimos por la UConn de Stamford por la calidad de educaci\u00f3n y el costo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Haber ingresado al Programa del Bachillerato Internacional (IB), el cual me ha preparado para la universidad. Este es un programa dif\u00edcil y riguroso en el que estar, pero dado que llegu\u00e9 hasta aqu\u00ed y estoy a punto de graduarme, siento que este ha sido mi mayor logro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. Pensando en el proceso de solicitud \u00bfqu\u00e9 consejo dar\u00edas a los estudiantes de secundaria actuales que est\u00e1n pensando en aplicar a la universidad?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  Aplica a tus universidades preferidas tan pronto como sea posible, busca un consejero universitario que te ayude a completar la solicitud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  1. \u00bfC\u00f3mo te ha ayudado tu entrenamiento musical en INTEMPO con tus estudios, calificaciones escolares, ensayos universitarios, etc.?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                    Tener que practicar mi guitarra repetidamente me ha ayudado cuando estudio y me preparo para ex\u00e1menes y pruebas en la escuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
