Raised in a family of music lovers, Chris Fountain spent much of his early adulthood pursuing a career in music. He earned a B.S. in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University, was principal trumpet of the Danbury Community Orchestra, took part in the Fairfield-based American Chamber Orchestra's 2007 tour of northern Italy, and sang tenor in a choir and opera chorus.
Life eventually led Chris toward other fields, and he spent four years living in Honduras as a business owner, requiring him to learn Spanish and to grow comfortable entering situations where he doesn´t know anyone else.
Back in Connecticut since late-2017, Chris has held a number of public-facing positions including; long-term substitute teacher for the Stamford Public Schools, U.S. Census enumerator, and elections worker in charge of overseas absentee ballots, culminating in his current position as administrator of COVID-19 contact tracing for the City of Stamford.
He is excited to serve on INTEMPO´s board of directors as it provides an opportunity to assist a non-profit that is already doing exemplary work in the community and because his past life experiences can be put to use helping the next generation.
