Claudia Ahumada has worked in various capacities in the financial services industry, including serving as an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer for the Royal Bank of Scotland since 2013. She has extensive experience in operational risk management, risk identification, and process development. As Assistant Vice-President at HSBC Securities (USA), she was responsible for implementing regulatory policies and procedures, including Know Your Customer (KYC), Bank Secrecy Act, and USA Patriot Act. Prior to that, she gained expertise in commercial banking as a personal banker for Citibank NA.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Sacred Heart University, as well as an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. In addition, she is a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). She also holds certifications as an Operations Professional by Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and as a Certified Public Notary from the State of Connecticut.
A native of Colombia, she is passionate about creating educational opportunities for youth and having a positive impact on her community. She has served as Treasurer and Vice President of Volunteers for the Norwalk Aquatic Club (Zeus Swim Team). Her daughter, Melissa, studies the violin at INTEMPO, Native Instrument Academy, and her son, Brian, is a student at Purdue University. She and her family live in Stamford, Connecticut.
