Sgt. Adriana Molina
Sergeant Adriana Molina immigrated to Stamford from Colombia as a child with her family. With nearly two decades of service on the police force, she now leads the department's Behavioral Health Unit, which responds to the growing number of mental health cases. Sgt. Molina began her career as a 911 dispatcher before becoming an officer in her late 30s. She later served as a Special Victims Unit investigator and was promoted to sergeant two years ago.
In 2015, Sgt. Molina was named Officer of the Year by the Stamford Police Association. She was also recognized by Latinos United for Professional Advancement as one of the 50 most influential Latinos in the state. In 2024, she was honored with the “Citizen of the Year Award,” becoming the first police officer to receive the honor, which dates back to the 1940s. Additionally, Sgt. Molina recently completed her nursing degree.
Adriana is a mother of three children and a grandmother, and she lives in Stamford.
