We accept students between the ages of 6 and 17 and provide the instruments and tuition scholarships. No prior music experience is required to join.

Small group classes run afterschool from September through June. Students may choose to study the following instruments:

• violin
• viola
• cello
• guitar
• charango
• piano
• percussion
• audio production
• choir
• ensembles for intermediate and advanced students
• private lessons for advanced students

Additionally, INTEMPO offers a number of additional services for members including:

• Youth councils for middle school and high school - students learn workforce skills, practice social emotional learning, and become INTEMPO’s student leaders
• Academic support: students have access to homework help, reading groups, and one on one literacy intervention

Classes follow the academic school year from September through June and meet at our arts and culture center at 141 Franklin Street in Stamford.

Our music school inspires young musicians to strive for artistic excellence, with an engaging cross-cultural curriculum taught by experienced teaching artists.
