Terry Hess Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Terry Hess Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her family in April 2020 to honor the legacy of INTEMPO Lead Teaching Artist, Terry Hess, whose inspiring energy and passion for music education touched the lives of hundreds of students. It has now become an initiative led by the Board of Directors. The continued education scholarship supports current INTEMPO students and alumni.
In her honor, three college students received tuition scholarship support to attend university as first-generation students in 2020-2021; an INTEMPO alumni received career assistance in 2022; and two students received a scholarship in 2023.
Eligibility Requirements
An applicant must:
- Be a graduating high school senior in good standing at INTEMPO
- Have participated in INTEMPO music program(s) for two or more years
- Have an acceptance letter or other proof of plan to enroll in college/university or trade/vocational program
We will also consider an applicant who is:
- An INTEMPO alumna/alumnus who is currently an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing or is enrolled in a trade school or vocational training program
