Carita Hughes

Piano Instructor

Carita has been teaching piano since 2008 in the Detroit, Michigan area. She has a proven track record of success with students attending the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan. Additionally, her students earned high scores in adjudication through the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program, where she is listed as a founding teacher. Carita was a teacher at the Steinway Gallery Arts Academy in addition to operating her private studio, Fingertips Piano Studio. Since moving to Stamford, she has been teaching privately at Stamford Music and Arts Academy.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, with an emphasis on piano pedagogy, from Marygrove College.

Carita has a natural creative talent in working with various concepts that ensure a stimulating interactive classroom where students experience the joy of learning music. Her methods of teaching adhere to traditional classical piano methods which include proper form, interpretation, theory and ear training. It is Carita’s goal to instill a lifelong love of music to every student she encounters.
