Gina Frederick
Gina is a social worker at Apples Early Childhood Educational Center, a public pre-school in Stamford which addresses the needs of children with special education needs and general education peers. Prior to that she was an elementary school social worker at Northeast and KTMurphy in Stamford, CT, where she provided up to 40 camp scholarships every summer. At Apples, she leads parenting workshops, and works closely with children, teachers, and parents, as well as with the Department of Children and Families. Over the past 18 years, Gina has developed and fostered partnerships with various community organizations, such as Filling in the Blanks, The JCC, and Person-to-Person. Through these collaborations, she has helped secure food and clothing for children, as well as coordinating annual holiday gift drives for families in need.
Gina received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her M.S.W. from New York University. She previously worked at Child Guidance Centers in both Stamford and New London. She served on the board of directors of the Friends of the Ferguson Library, where she co-chaired the Stamford Literary Competition, and currently serves as an Advisory Board member of the Avon Theater in Stamford. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Stamford Peace Youth Foundation.
Gina lives in Stamford, with her husband, Steven. Her three adult children attended the Stamford Public Schools.
