INTEMPO Volunteer Opportunities

1. Volunteer at INTEMPO Recitals


Who can volunteer: Parents and community members

When: Evenings and/or weekends

Where: Onsite at INTEMPO (Stamford, CT)

Description: Usher, registration, stage setup, snack distribution

Purpose: Recitals are an important part of our program to give the children an opportunity to share what they have learned. It also brings our INTEMPO community together for a happy occasion.

2. Prepare Supply Packages for Summer Camp


Who can volunteer: Anyone

When: June 2023, 2 hours

Where: Onsite at INTEMPO (Stamford, CT)

Description: Volunteers will organize approximately 85 packages for each student with everything they need for the summer program.

Purpose: Students need supplies to participate in the summer program.

3. Volunteer at Day of the Dead Festival


Who can volunteer: Anyone 14+ is welcome; 15+ volunteers needed

When: Mid-October 2023, 2-6 hours (rotations, if needed)

Where: Festival at Caramoor Center for the Arts ( Katonah, NY)

Description: Volunteers will help prepare arts-and-crafts kits and support the project table that has historically served over 200+ people at an annual event (face painting, crafts, and other cultural activities).

Purpose: INTEMPO is committed to sharing cultural experiences with our youth and community members. Caramoor Center for the Arts is one of our educational partners. This event includes a live-concert at their main stage featuring our youth ensemble, as well as an activities table with hand-made crafts. Also, Westchester County, NY is a geographic priority for INTEMPO’s communications and development priorities.

4. Wrap and Distribute Toys for Tots


Who can volunteer: Anyone is welcome

When: Mid- December 2023 at Holiday Concert, 2-4 hours

Where: Onsite at INTEMPO (Stamford, CT)

Description: Volunteers sort the gifts by age group and gender, wrap the gifts, serve hot chocolate, Mexican-traditional bread (conchas), cupcakes, cookies, and deliver the gifts to our kids after the annual holiday concert. A community leader is dressed as Santa Claus and a volunteer takes pictures.

Purpose: INTEMPO is committed to maintaining annual traditions and performance experiences with our youth and community members. In partnership with Toys for Tots of Stamford, we have been distributing gifts to our youth ages 4-12 and their siblings since 2017.

1. IT Specialist


Who can volunteer: Someone with knowledge about computer softwares, antivirus, cloud-based file sharing system and a cybersecurity overview.

When: 1-2 times per year for 2-4 hours - estimated timing is Spring/Summer/Winter seasons

Where: Onsite at INTEMPO’s offices or virtual

Purpose: As a growing organization, INTEMPO seeks to have our MacLab updated, our administrative computers revised, and our team to be trained on cybersecurity and ways to mitigate and identify digital scams.

2. Fundraising/Development Support


Who can volunteer: Someone with experience in fundraising and a desire to work with the staff and Board of INTEMPO to help grow the organization’s individual and corporate donor base.

When: Quarterly, 2-3 hours per session

Where: Onsite at INTEMPO’s offices or virtual

Purpose: As a growing organization, INTEMPO seeks to grow its unrestricted funding through individual giving as well as make connections with mission-aligned corporations.

3. Financial Consultant


Who can volunteer: Someone with financial experience and a desire to mentor and work with the staff and Board of Intempo to draft financial projections for the organization as we grow.

When: 1-2 times per year for 4-6 hours - estimated timing is February and June

Where: Onsite at INTEMPO’s offices or virtual

Purpose: Need help with growth projections to plan for long-term sustainability that will help make informed decisions.
