Dr. Lisa Petno

Lisa joined INTEMPO’s Board of Directors in 2012, where she served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2015 until 2019 and is currently the Chairman Emerita. She serves on the Dean’s Advisory Councils of both Princeton University and New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and is a strong advocate of programs that support first generation and low-income students and global human rights initiatives. She also served as a Partner at Social Venture Partners. Lisa has been involved with youth music programs for more than a decade and has served on the Board of Directors of the Norwalk Youth Symphony, acting in various capacities including a three-year term as Chairman. She relates her passion for music and education, as well as her involvement in organizations dedicated to improving the quality of young lives through music, to her four children, who all grew up playing music and were involved with youth symphonies and music programs in Connecticut and New York City. In 2016, she received Moffly Media’s Light a Fire Award for Outstanding Patron of the Arts.
Lisa received her A.B. degree from Princeton University and her M.D. degree from Cornell University Medical College. She has conducted visual systems neuroscience research in the Laboratory of Neurobiology at Rockefeller University.
She resides with her husband, Doug, and her two Australian Shepherds, Cody and Bella, in New Canaan, Connecticut.
