Lucy Galarza

Special Projects Coordinator

Lucy Galarza was born in Barcelona, Spain to Ecuadorian parents and is honored to be part of a musical lineage six generations strong. She is a multifaceted creative who expresses herself through songwriting, poetry, composition, production, cello performance, and interior décor. Lucy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from The City College of New York, supported by the Sphinx MPower Artist Grant and a scholarship honoring National Heritage Fellow Ilias Kementzidis. Her work has been showcased at The Chrysler Museum of Art (VA) and premiered at venues including Harlem Stage (NYC), Universidad de las Américas Puebla (Mexico), Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing (NYC), and Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), among others.

With over 10 years of experience in the arts and social justice movement, Lucy has worked in administrative, development, and communication roles. She served as Development Manager for CT Students for a Dream before returning to INTEMPO in 2022. She also founded Riobamba Studio in 2020, an online curated vintage interior décor business that reflects her passion for storytelling through space and design. Lucy resides in Norwalk, Connecticut, where she was raised.
