Nancy graduated from Skidmore (B.S. in Visual Arts) and the University of Kentucky (M.A. in Communications). Before graduating, Nancy worked for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, the European Grand Prix Races, and the National Junior Tennis League. Later, she worked in Account Management for Dancer, Fitzgerald & Sample Advertising and Benton & Bowles Advertising before getting married and moving to Germany where she lived twice (Frankfurt in 1983 – 1985, and Dusseldorf in 1992 – 1995). While in Germany, Nancy began her volunteer career, working for voter registration at the US Consulate and volunteering for a Women’s Group, which published two books for the English-speaking communities in Frankfurt.

After returning from Germany, Nancy founded and was president of Home Inventories, Inc. in Darien. She also worked part-time for Texaco, helping in Human Resources with employee handbooks and developing computer graphics for the newsletter. She also continued to be involved with nonprofits.

Nancy received her Certificate in Nonprofit Management from UConn in 2004, and a Certification in Human Rights & Social Justice in 2017. She is Past President of the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) where she served on the Board for 12 years. She also served on the Executive Board of the Parents’ Association at KLHT (now King). Nancy volunteered for the Community Fund of Darien as a Team Leader for Allocations, and developed communication materials for CancerCare in Norwalk and Person-to-Person. Nancy is a lifelong parishioner of St. Luke’s Parish (Darien) and was the first Vestry/Board Liaison to Person-to-Person (P2P), serving for six years. Nancy was on the P2P Board for 9 years, serving on the Executive Committee as Vice President and President (4 years. She chaired Task Forces, before returning to the Board as Treasurer for another two years). Nancy was the Co-Chair of the Governance Committee for a new nonprofit initiative in Stamford (Neighbor´s Link Stamford, now Building One Community), before joining the Inspirica Board of Directors where she served for 6 years, joining the Executive Committee as Vice Chairman and establishing the Governance Committee, which she Chaired. She continues to serve on the Inspirica Advisory Council. Nancy lives in Darien with her husband, Steve.
