INTEMPO Policies

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Policy Statement

Intempo believes Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity are inherent to our mission and critical to ensure the well-being of our staff, volunteers, clients and the communities we serve. Specifically, our mission is based on making classical and intercultural music relevant, inclusive, and accessible to all children, particularly those from immigrant families, and to help close the opportunity gap by developing their musical, social, and interpersonal skills. We embrace our cultural differences, respect our diverse life experiences and heritages, and ensure that all voices are valued and heard.

Intempo is committed to modeling diversity and inclusion for the nonprofit sector and local community, and to maintaining an inclusive environment with equitable treatment for all.
Anti-Racism Policy Statement

Intempo is committed to assuming a proactive responsibility to recognize racism’s causes and effects, and to reducing the impact of racism within our organization and our local community. Specifically, we have created programs, measures, and systems of accountability to make sure that students from diverse backgrounds feel they belong and have the opportunity to succeed through our music classes and tutoring programs. We respect and celebrate their lives, cultural heritage and racial identity through music and literacy, working collaboratively and leveraging partnerships that transform our communities to build platforms for equal, equitable, and just treatment of all people of color in the arts and at large.
